For International Women and Girls in Science Day, we are more than excited to be joined by Dr. Temple Grandin for a talk on 12th of February at 8pm. Dr. Grandin is an accomplished scientist and an activist for animal rights. Her work on animal behavior for the humane treatment of livestock for slaughter was extremely influential, in fact, she was one of the first scientists to report that animals are sensitive to visual distractions in handling facilities. She is also a spokesperson for autism and an inspiration to all under-represented groups in science. During the talk, Dr. Grandin will be sharing her experience and challenges on the topic of “Diversity in Science”. See you all at the event and keep an eye out on our socials for the zoom link!
