Wednesday the 8th is international women's day. So let's talk bread and roses. The symbol of women workers fighting for bread (what's required to live life) and roses (also fighting to embrace life beyond just surviving, to be able to stop and smell the roses). Right now, there is clear sexist language built into the Irish constitution. Labour is working on getting that removed. The party has a strong record of putting women at the forefront of our campaigns. Unsurprisingly then, Ivana Bacik, who almost went to prison fighting for abortion rights, has taken up the party's leadership. If you want to talk about feminism, needed policy to tackle inequalities, or you want to have a coffee and meet like-minded people. Come along!
