Intel’s VP of IoT, Julien Carreno, will be giving a talk on the topic of wearable electronics. This technology is growing alongside the broader Internet of Things (IoT) area which is predicted to bring us to unprecedented levels of interconnectivity. IoT enables intelligence in edge devices that was not previously possible and connects them to the cloud in a way that allows meaningful data analytics. From keeping energy usage to a minimum in connected buildings to allowing smart cities to understand which areas suffer most from air pollution – the Internet of Things allows us to create a better place to live. Wearable technology is in its infancy and where it will go is only constrained by your imagination. By gathering and processing biometric data we can learn more about human health and deliver a better quality of life to everyone. ElecSoc will be cohosting a reception with Intel in the Engineering Building. After the talk and hot food and refreshments will be provided.
