King Lear Auditions
It’s that time of year again, the Leaving Cert show is just around the corner and we’re pleased to open auditions for the 2021 production of King Lear by William Shakespeare. This year we find ourselves in unusual circumstances and we must adapt to COVID-19 guidelines for the safety of our cast and crew. For that reason, our audition process will be a little different than normal...
For this year’s audition, we’d ask actors to send us on a self-tape of two monologues from the attached selection. This is to show us your range and the characters you may be suitable for. The submissions for these self-tapes will be open for a week; from the 12th of October to the 17th of October, with callbacks taking place the following week (Dates to be confirmed). We’d ask that all actors include their name, some previous experience, and what roles they’d like to be considered for when forwarding their self-tapes to us via firstname.lastname@example.org
Once all the self-tapes have been reviewed we’ll be in touch regarding callbacks which will take place over Zoom. We understand that not everyone has a good internet connection so don’t worry too much about that, as we will have previously seen you perform via your self-tapes.
This is a blind casting call so feel free to audition for any role regardless of gender.
Please feel free to contact us via email with any queries regarding the production Or Message our Director (A.E. Quinn) for more information.
