    Event Description

UCD LawSoc is proud to present its annual Dubs V. Culchies Debate and incredibly excited to bring this recurrent rivalry back to its proper home in the Fitzgerald Chamber!

The Dubs enjoy their high life of glitz and glamour. Especially in UCD's hometown of D4 you're never a DART stop away from a group of rowdy students who'll make you wish you studied abroad. They love a good flat white, their chinos, a good shmozzle on Harcourt Street outside Dicey’s, and the customary few drunken rugby chants. Assuming you manage to actually find accommodation that's actually affordable you could find a lot worse places to live your student life than Dublin.

In the absence of any public transport, the Culchies live a much simpler, more peaceful life. They know how to put the charm on with their premium Lynx Agri, shifting behind the dressing rooms after a match under the watchful eye of the local parish priest. Students who pack up and move to the big smoke for college face quite the culture shock, not least of which being the realisation that a GAA jersey is not a hot look for a night out.

Join us in UCD's Fitzgerald Chamber this Friday @ 16:00 to watch fantastic and entertaining student speakers from all across Ireland attempt to put this question to rest for good.

If you can't make the debate, don't worry! We'll be streaming the debate across our social media and recording it so you can watch it back later!

In-person attendance of this debate requires a student to be fully, and certifiably vaccinated from Covid 19.

Vaccine Passports will be checked at the entrance
