Imagine a society where we all... - Talked openly about our mental health without fear of stigma, - Understood how to pro-actively take care of our own minds - Enjoyed greater mental fitness - Had a supportive, available and humane mental health system that would always catch us and those we love when we fall A Lust for Life is an award winning Irish wellbeing movement created to transform how we talk about and treat mental health in Ireland. The movement and charities vision is a world where the wellbeing of humanity is the headliner on the main stage, and everything else is a support act ♥ Niall Breslin (AKA Bressie) is a retired professional rugby and inter county football player, he is also a music producer and a multi-platinum selling song writer! His recent book "Me and my mate Jeffrey" which he wrote about his journey with his mental health and wellbeing became bestseller!!! He has also written a children's picture booked called the "Magic Moment"! and he and his team set up A Lust for Life :) Dr. Eddie Murphy is a Clinical Psychologist, an author and is a mental health and wellbeing advocate. He is passionate about promoting wellbeing for children, adults, families and communities. And his passion and enthusiasm about wellbeing is anchored in evidence based psychology! His involvement in A Lust for Life is about changing things and seeking services that are quality, effective, funded, timely, responsive and compassionate!! Both Dr. Eddie Murphy and Bressie have kindly agreed to come into UCD students and talk about their experience with Mental Health and what needs to change in Irish society so that mental health may be a top priority. As this will be a panel discussion questions you might have are very important so please come ready with them! Other founders from A Lust for Life will be on the panel discussion and will be providing valuable information! Also if you want someone on the committee to ask questions on your behalf that’s no problems just message us on FB or Insta before hand♥ :) There will also be other charities in attendance to provide information about their services after the event such as Pieta House, Samaritans and Shine & Change! Both Dr. Eddie Murphy and Bressie and A Lust for Life will also be presented with a Life Time Honorary membership with the UCD Psychological Society! In UCD many of us experiences extremely stressful moments and average university students are normally going through transitioning periods, where our mental health can be jeopardised! Events like this give students a unique opportunity to chat with people who have wisdom and expertise with mental health and who also are at the for-front of advancing the important of mental health and wellbeing!!! Hope to see you all there!!! If you have friends who would like to go but are not a member of the Psychological Society they can pay 2euro at the door to join!:)
