The first robotics club meeting will run from 19.00 - 20.30 in room 329 in the Engineering building. 329 is on the third floor and we'll have signs up directing you to the lab. You don't need to bring anything with you, but feel free to bring any friends along and they can sign up to ElecSoc tonight. The club will run for a bit over an hour and we'll finish up with some pizza.
Don't worry if you can't make it tonight, we'll keep you posted about future meetings and you can drop in whenever suits.
We have plenty of projects on the go at any one time. We are currently working on the development of an autonomous quadcopter using the Intel Galileo board. We are also currently working on a 3d printed robotic hand based off the open source Inmoov design which we printed using the societies very own Ultimaker original printers. Then we also have the bread and butter of the society, the sumo bots. The society competed in the 2014 intervarsity competition with these and we now have have a new generation of lighter faster and powerful robots available for people to work with.
The club is also pushing out into the areas of machine vision and virtual reality with some projects in the pipeline. We are also experimenting with the raspberry pi platform and with android app development.
