Our final Thursday Clinical Talk of the year will be given by Anne French in Room Vet 115 at 7pm. Anne is a European Specialist in Small Animal Cardiology. Anne will be discussing the common cardiovascular diseases encountered in small animal practice. This is a great talk for third years studying cardiology at the moment and excellent revision for final years. Anne graduated from UCD and spent several years in small animal practice in the UK and as a lecturer in Small Animal Internal Medicine in Zimbabwe before deciding to specialise in Veterinary Cardiology. She did a residency in cardiology at the Royal School of Veterinary Studies in Edinburgh where she spent several years as a lecturer/senior lecturer in small animal cardiopulmonary medicine. She joined the University of Glasgow as a senior clinician in cardiorespiratory medicine in September 2012 and is currently Professor of Veterinary Cardiology. Anne obtained her RCVS Diploma in Veterinary Cardiology in 1997, European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine Diploma in Cardiology in 2003 and completed a PhD in mucosal immunity in 2008. Anne is a visiting senior lecturer in small animal cardiology at UCD. She has lectured extensively both nationally and internationally and is interested in all aspects of cardiorespiratory disease in dogs and cats. She has broad research interests and has publications relating to mucosal immunity, echocardiography, interventional cardiology, mitral valve disease and methods of screening for cardiac disease. Anne is Head of the Division of Small Animal Clinical Sciences and Director of the Small Animal Hospital. This talk is kindly sponsored by Boehringer Small Animal. There will be free tea, coffee, biscuits and pizza as always! A big thank you to everyone who attended the clinical talks throughout the year! :)
