Tuesday's Clinical Talk is our second clinical talk of this semester. It will be given by our very own Barbara Gallagher who is a senior clinician in the small animal internal medicine department here in UCDVH. Barbara will be discussing how to approach the anaemic patient in small animal practice, including differential diagnoses, case work-up, how to treat and when to refer. This will be an extremely beneficial talk for third year students studying haemolymphatics at the moment, and great revision for fourth and final years, as this is a common topic for final year small animal medicine exams. For those of you who aren't familiar with Barbara; Barbara qualified from University College Dublin in 2005. After three years in a busy small animal clinic in the UK, she returned to UCD to undertake a residency in Small Animal Medicine. She was awarded a Diploma from the European College of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Companion Animals in 2012. After obtaining her ECVIM-CA diploma Barbara remained on staff as a clinician in the Small Animal Medicine and the Intensive Care department for some time, she also worked overseas as a Small Animal Medicine Registrar at Murdoch University, Western Australia before returning to UCD as a Lecturer in Small Animal Medicine in 2014. This talk is kindly sponsored by Gain Feeds. There will be tea, coffee, biscuits and pizza as per usual! See you Tuesday in Room VET 115 at 7pm!
