The UCD Dance Charity Showcase is a bi-annual event which takes place on UCD Campus at the end of each semester. It is an opportunity for friends and families of the society’s members as well as the general public to see the amazing talent that we have to offer from our competitive crews to our devoted class attendees. The three competitive crews, Irish dance, fusion and hip hop, have been rehearsing since September for festivals, dance shows and national competitions that have taken place during the year and are so excited to show you all what they’re made of! UCD Dance has partnered with many other societies along the way, such as Musical Soc and the LGBT Society. We are so excited to have them performing with us on the night also. We are delighted to announce that for this semester’s show, we will be partnering with Tribe! Tribe is a community of young people coming together to raise money and awareness for mental health in Ireland. The believe in changing the way people view mental health in our society. As part of their efforts, they host a series of events to raise much-needed funds for their partner, Pieta House. Since 2006, Pieta House has provided a one-to-one therapeutic service for people who have attempted suicide, who are experiencing suicidal ideation, or are engaging in self-harm. 90% of their income comes from fundraising events and they rely heavily on the support of their volunteers and the general public. And that’s where you come in! By supporting our event, you are also supporting the incredibly important work done by the volunteers at Pieta House and helping to keep the doors of their centre open to all in need of their help. The event will be Held in ASTRA HALL, located in the old student centre, UCD! TICKETS WILL BE €2, and can be purchased at the doors on the day of the event! We also have a highly anticipated raffle happening on the night to win some amazing prizes. All the proceeds will be going to charity so we really encourage you to come down and support such an amazing cause.
