Event Description
UCD Dramsoc Presents: 'Not if You Were the Last Person on Earth' by Caoilfhionn Murphy Ní Mhaolchalain
"Myra is a twenty four year old exploring the uncharted obstacles of adulthood. Having dropped out of college, Myra finds herself lost in the transition between childhood and where she finds herself now; living alone in an apartment working in a job she finds ultimately unfulfilling. She is divided in everything she thinks or does, between the outfit she wears to a party and the future career she wants to peruse.
Depicted as two people, Myra’s conscious is in conflict with itself throughout the play, in an effort to reconnect to the version of herself as a child slipping away from memory. The question is, can Myra’s past memories of who she once was lead her to a future that is more fulfilling than the one she’s currently facing? Between relationships, nights out and unexpected visitors, Myra goes through the experiences and emotions of what it is to be in your twenties, and what can be done to survive them."
