This week 7 of college, Dramsoc are delighted be hosting Women’s Week. Women's Week 2019 aims to celebrate all women with a particular focus on women in theatre. We are so excited to be hosting events every single day between 4th-8th March. We will also be putting a Homeless Period Tampons/Pads drop off box outside the theatre all week, so please drop by and make a donation!

5pm – Improv Group with Ellie Hanan Moran
This week’s improv group will be hosted by Ellie Hanon Moran and is a great way to get involved with theatre, even if you don’t have experience!
12pm – Consent Workshop with Siobhán Slater
Come join us in a consent education based workshop! Where we'll talk about consent in terms of physical intimacy and in a broader context. We'll be exploring power, privilege, emotional intimacy, pleasure and identity. All are welcome and everyone will be heard! Come have your say, share what you know and learn from your peers.

5pm - Chaos Factory Workshop
Chaos Factory are an experimental theatre company founded by Fionnuala Gygax, Danielle Galligan and Venetia Bowe with Rachel Bergin. They recently performed their show “Kiss Kiss Slap Slap” at the Dublin Fringe which was inspired by the #MeToo
movement and explored rape culture in Ireland. They will be joining us for a talk and writing workshop on Wednesday from 5pm-6pm.
1pm - Physical Theatre with Adele Crilly
5pm - Writing Female Character with Joyce Dignam
This week’s writer’s workshop will be focused around writing strong female characters. We will be exploring tropes, stereotypes and what makes a female character strong. We will do some writing prompts and there will be time at the end to share any work you would like to bring yourself.
7:30pm - Evening of Female Performances
Come along and enjoy an array of performances by some of Dramsoc’s talented female actors. From comedy, to gut wrenching tragedy, our ladies are ready to amaze you with monologues, duologues and movement pieces, so be sure to come and celebrate women in theatre through performance.
12pm - Theatre trip to "International Women's Day Make a Play
We will be doing a theatre trip to The New Theatre’s “International Women’s Day Make a Play” event. To celebrate International Women's Day, three playwrights will write one play between them. The first playwright will write the beginning, the second the middle and you guessed right, the third playwright will write the end. Tickets are five euro and ll proceeds will go to Saoirse Women's Refuge - Tallaght.
We will be meeting at the Dramsoc theatre and leaving at 12pm on Friday 8th. If you would like to book a ticket please contact Joyce at firstname.lastname@example.org.
7pm – BYOB Female Karaoke
Come along and sing some of the best songs written and performed typically* by women. BYOB but no spirits or glassware.
*men are more than bloody well welcome to come and belt out a Madonna or Britney
