    Event Description

UCD LGBTQ+ are proud to present our Semester on Drag Variery show. This year we are raising funds for HIV Ireland. Established in 1987, Dublin AIDS Alliance Ltd is a voluntary organisation working to improve conditions for people living with or affected by HIV and AIDS. Dublin AIDS Alliance Ltd is now trading as HIV Ireland. HIV Ireland operates under an ethos of equality and is committed to making a positive contribution towards a humane and just society. We strive to ensure that our staff, volunteers and service users are treated with dignity and respect at all times and to create an environment that promotes equal opportunity and prohibits discrimination. HIV Ireland aimas: • To work towards reducing the prevalence of HIV in Ireland through effective prevention strategies. • To increase public awareness and understanding around HIV and AIDS and to reduce the stigma and discrimination connected with HIV and AIDS. • To improve the quality of life for people living with HIV through quality evidence-based support and advocacy services. • To enhance the promotion of broader sexual health objectives through education and training and through health promotion projects/campaigns in line with national policy. • To inform and to influence policy around issues concerning HIV prevention and sexual health and relating to the lives of people living with HIV. But in order to do this work they need community support, this is where Drag for Life comes in. We have an array of Queens, Kings and non-binary artists ready to take to the Astra Hall stage to bring you laughs and tears and some generally fabulous entertainment. On the night doors will be at 6.15pm in the Atrium found in the old student center. With the show starting at 6.30 sharp. Show will end at approximately 8.30pm followed by a reception. Tickets are €3 for members, €5 for non-members. Did we mention there will be food and beverages provided afterwords? Food and show, for less than a tenner? You'd be mad to miss it! So come along, have a bop and help us raise some mmoney or a truly worthy cause.
