ROCK – Dramsoc’s Flagship Show, Ross O’Carroll Kelly’s ‘Breaking Dad’, was a sell-out success in Week 3. The show, which ran from the 28th-30th of September, was attended by Paul Howard, the author of the Ross O’Carroll Kelly books and plays, and by Sara Cregan, the producer of the original run of ‘Breaking Dad’ and auditor of the 80th Session of Dramsoc.

Performing to a full seating rig each night, the actors delivered hilarious performances as they relayed the story of the Celtic Phoenix of 2022 and Bertie Ahern’s return to power. Ross (David Mulrooney) is coming to terms with the fact that his daughter, Honour (Ellen Walters), is going to the pre-debs with Traolach (Nic Cargin), the captain of the Blackrock rugby team and possibly Ross’ illegitimate son. The rest of Ross’ family – his father Charles (Ross O’Leary), his wife Sorcha (Sarah Gordon) and his north-side son Ronan (Seán Butler) – attempt to resolve the problems and make up for Ross’ general incompetence. Stellar performances from the entire cast made this an unmissable show to kickstart the first Semester of shows in Dramsoc.
