Society of the week is a series were we profile a society in UCD that deserves more attention. Below is an article about UCD Nutrition Soc holding their first Grape Eating Competition – here’s a summary of what went on!
This years grape eating competition was a feature of our “Meal Prep 101” Christmas get-together. It’s one of the first few events we’ve organised as part of the newly formed nutrition society. With the stress of exams, we wanted to encourage students to get cooking. One hour of meal prep can cover you for three to four days, which is a great relief when you’re coming home from a long day at the library!
The event was sponsored by Dropchef who were generous enough to provide 2 weeks of free meals and numerous 25 euro vouchers as spot prizes. They also provided us with a big bunch of printed out recipes to inspire students to prep their own meals for the Christmas exams.
We booked out Cafe Brava for a healthy lunch catered by Sweet Cecily which was kindly sponsored by the Irish branch of the Nutrition Society.
Members and newly signed-up members came along and enjoyed the free lunch and took part in the grape eating competition! The winners of the free week of meals were Una Boland and Oliver Clark.
