Student Legal Service
Founded in 2006, the UCD Student Legal Service is one of the most active and
dynamic societies on campus. We’re a voluntary society, established with the aim of providing free legal information to all students in UCD.
If you are a law student and want to gain practical experience while enhancing your legal skills, look no further than the SLS. All SLS volunteers receive training from practicing legal professionals as well as academics in the Law School.
We place a keen focus on law in practice and making law more accessible. During our trips to the Courts, members are given the opportunity to meet with Judges and discuss developments within law.
Our research has been widely recognised from within and outside UCD. In 2012, the SLS published our “Manual on Students Rights” which won UCD Publication of the Year. In 2013, the society made history when it published Ireland’s first Civic Guide to the Constitution.
