Planning & Environmental Policy Society
The Planning and Environmental Policy Society is a social society dedicated to connecting all students in UCD who are interested in urban and regional planning, environmental policy, and sustainable development.
Anyone is welcome to join our society, and we are committed to providing a welcoming and inclusive environment on our online and in-person events and activities. We especially encourage students outside of the School of Planning and Environmental Policy to get involved, as we believe that many people share an interest in this field, such as:
- urban and rural planning
- environmental change
- climate policy
- urban design and placemaking
- inequality and social justice
- community development
- Smart Cities
- urban and regional economics
- planning law
We have an exciting calendar of events and activities planned for the coming year (2022/2023), including:
- weekly lunchtime socials with tea and coffee
- panel discussions with guest speakers
- 5-a-side football tournaments
- themed parties for Halloween, Christmas, and St. Valentine’s Day
- trips around Dublin, Ireland and abroad
- Film / TV viewings
- evening socials
- and much more…
In addition, PEPSoc serves as the voice of our members in planning and environmental policy matters, for example, by organising and assisting in contributions made by our members to public consultations for development and policy proposals. PEPSoc also produces a podcast and newsletter, through which our members can listen to interviews with industry professionals in Ireland and around the world, keep up with the latest news, get career tips, and learn about upcoming events. These are produced by our media sub-committee, which any of our members are welcome to apply to join and get involved.
Follow the links on this page to join our social media platforms, or email us to learn more about PEPSoc. Even better, come to one of our events and get involved!
