Last Thursday 4th May, UCD Societies hosted its annual Society Awards. The awards celebrate the successful events and extra-curricular activities held by over 80 societies on campus that occurred in the last academic year.

The event saw the students rewarded for the hard work and dedication that went into the weekly running of the societies for the students of UCD, and was attended by the various student committees.

Richard Butler, University Societies Officer, began the ceremony by highlighting the importance of interpersonal relationships and personal development that have developed from involvement within the societies of UCD. Further going on to say that societies were just as integral to the college experience as lectures and exams.

The eight categories saw societies commended in a variety of areas, from social media presence to publishing to event management.
