It’s been quite a year. We’ve saluted Americana at our Super Bowl Party and Poker World Series. We got the inside scoop from John Kavanagh and we’ve had parties in secret locations, luxury hotels and on a boat with Patrick Topping.
We’re capping it all off with our last major event: BICEP & New Jackson
A unique and intimate indoor day to night party inside the university’s purpose built event space, The Astra Hall. A full bar, visual lighting experience and custom audio setup will compliment the rarity of the DJ booth & performers being placed in the centre of the room. Boiler Room style.
Some of the biggest names in electronic music on this island today will be joining us and carrying this special event from day to night. After it’s over we’ll be bringing the party onwards to the city centre for an exclusive after party.
*BICEP* – The Arthur Guinness Award Winner
Bicep truly need no introduction. Touring the world over; curating and selling out everywhere they go. Bicep are easily one of the scene’s biggest acts and their latest eponymous album is filled with sheer excellence; Glue, Aura, Vale, to name a few. Their hard work resulting in anthem after anthem and even their own festival, A.V.A. The impact their music has had upon the student psyche across the island of Ireland makes them extremely worthy recipients of our highest honour, The Arthur Guinness award which they will be presented with before performing a very special DJ set.
Bicep – Glue:
There are precious few artists that can lay claim to having put out records on labels as divergent as Rough Trade and John Talabot’s Hivern Discs. Perhaps this is because so few artists express such genuine diversity in their musical tastes and creative explorations as the ever prolific David Kitt. Since the turn of the decade as New Jackson he has mined a seam of driving, nocturnal house jams with a ghostly disco tint which run parallel with his solo strand of ambient electronica.
