    Gach bliain tugann Dámhachtainí an Uachtaráin aitheantas do na mic léinn sin a bhaineann an scoth amach in imeachtaí seach-churaclaim, imeachtaí a chinntíonn gur áit spleodrach, shuimiúil, dhinimiciúil agus dhaonnúil é UCD le cónaí ann agus le hobair agus staidéar ann chomh maith. Iarrtar ar fhoireann agus ar mhic léinn UCD iarrthóirí a ainmniú le haghaidh na ndámhachtainí sin.

    The President’s Awards each year provide recognition for those students who excel in extracurricular activities of a kind that make UCD an exciting, interesting, dynamic and humane place to live, study and work. Staff and students at UCD are invited to nominate candidates for these awards.

    Ciarán Ahern BBLS (2007) is honoured for his great work with the Law Society and the Dramatic Society for which her has written and performed. He is an accomplished musician and has been active in the UCD volunteering work in India.

    Laurence Banville BBLS (2008) has contributed to the University in many ways in his time here. He has been particularly active in volunteering work as a tutor, as a UCD Ambassador and in raising money for charities. He established the Erasmus Student Network in UCD.

    James Carroll BCL (2007)’s most noteworthy activity has been as a very successful President of the Students’ Union, representing students nationally and internationally. He has also been an active chairperson of the Kevin Barry Cumann.

    Sara Cregan BA (2006) MA (2011)’s particular contribution has been in the Dramatic Society where she has been an award-winning worker at many levels and was auditor in 2006. She was a key figure in the hosting of the Irish Student Drama Festival in UCD in 2005.

    Clíona Kelly BCL (2002) PhD (2007) has been a brilliant student who has added to the quality of life on campus in many ways – in debating, in the Students’ Union, in the Law Society, in the Free Legal Advice Centre and in working with disadvantaged students.

    Frank Kennedy BCL (2007) was auditor of the L&H during its 150th anniversary year and made sure that our oldest society showed its excellence to the world. He was also a star performer in the Dramatic Society and has acted as an adviser to students planning to go abroad.

    Eoin Kilkenny BA (2007) is honoured for his great work with the Dramatic Society and, in particular, for his work with the Irish Student Drama Festival held in UCD. He has also been a key member of the L&H and of the organising committee of the World University Debating Championships.

    Stephen O Dwyer BBLS (2007) MAcc (2009) has made his major contribution in the sporting area as a key officer of the Rugby Club over a number of years, working behind the scenes. He has been a stalwart member of one of the Rugby teams.

    Laura Toogood BA (2006) PhD (2011) is a star student and a star performer in equestrian events having competed at World Cup level: she is a current intervarsity champion. She has also been active in student journalism and in the UCD Fashion Show.
